SPRING SHOW 2024
7 & 8 September 2024
This show was hosted as a joint venture between the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society, Wellington Bonsai Club and Wellington region of Floral Art Societies. It featured an impressive display of Bonsai, floral art creations for the Wellington Floral Art Designer of the Year and spring blooms.
ROSE SHOW
12 and 13 November 2022
Hutt Valley Horticultural Society and the Hutt Valley Rose Society jointly hosted the Rose Show. As the name implies, a variety of beautiful roses were on display, as well as a variety of other November blooms such as Iris and Poppies.
SPRING SHOW
3 and 4 September 2022
Hutt Valley Horticultural Society (HVHS) was pleased to be able to host its Spring show. The show was co-hosted by the Wellington Bonsai Club, who ran a variety of activities over the weekend. The show also featured a floral art display by members of the Wellington regional group of Floral Art Clubs.

Early Summer Show (November 2021)
Hutt Valley Horticultural Society (HVHS) was pleased to be able to host its November Show, despite some additional planning considerations that needed to be introduced, in response to COVID 19. Excellent displays were provided by HVHS, Wellington regional group of Floral Art Clubs, Hutt Valley Rose Society and Wellington Bonsai Club.
Daffodil Seminar (July 2021)
Margaret Seconi—champion grower, member of the Society and the Wellington representative of the National Daffodil Society—spoke about daffodils and shared lots of advice on how to grow them in pots and how to exhibit. Margaret also shared her photos of the Keukenhoff Tulip Gardens.
Otari/Wilton's Bush Seminar (June 2021)
Tim Park of Wellington City Council gave a talk on the Otari Native Botanic Garden and Wilton's Bush Reserve--New Zealand's only botanic garden dedicated solely to native plants-- at our AGM on Sunday June 20 at the Moera Community House.
Aston Norward Gardens Seminar (April 2021)
Mark Rammell gave a talk on: “THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ASTON NORWOOD GARDENS “ on Saturday 17 Apr 2021 at 1:00 pm to 4:00pm Hardwick Smith Lounge, Belmont Domain.
Mark and his wife Fiona developed the Aston Norwood gardens and restaurant and their sons are involved with the garden centre. It was a very interesting talk on the development of the garden from the very beginning.
Flora of Croatia Seminar (March 2021)
Emilia Hrstich delighted us all with her talk on the “Flora of Mount Biokovo on the shores of the Adriatic“ on 27 March 2021 at 1:00 pm to 4:00pm Hardwick Smith Lounge, Belmont Domain.
Emilia is a terrific speaker and had lots of beautiful images to show us along with a very interesting talk of her homeland in Croatia.
